MA YING JEOU CAUGHT FOR CORRUPTION
Read the full article here: http://indiac.blogspot.com/2006/11/differences-between-cases-of-ma-ying.html

Today it was announced that Ma Ying Jeou seems to have receipts for buying women's shoes. But that means there is at least another $16.3 million unaccounted for. Over at "Its not a Democracy, Its a Conspiracy", the Taiwan blog, Tim has one juicy article titled, "The Differences Between the Cases of Ma Ying Jeou and Chen Shui Bian".

The first part of the problem is that there were huge discrepancies in the Taipei Mayor's receipts. But Mayor Ma blames it on his staffer, and claims that his staffer played "switcheroo", swapping large receipts with smaller ones, so as to save on paperwork. This is tricky because as Tim says, nobody is blaming his staffer, or even suspecting his staffer of pocketing the money.

"Although I knew nothing about it and so far there is no evidence to prove [my staffer] pocketed the money, I still need to shoulder administrative, political and moral responsibility for this blemish ... I offer my sincere apologies to Taipei residents," Ma told a press conference at Taipei City Hall."

But then Tim links to an article that says Taipei City staffer Yu Wen (??) has only submitted  just about 4 receipts a day. FOUR. This is where your tax money is going folks! Why is Yu Wen even hired if all this person does is file only 4 receipts a day? There's more:

"...Taipei Information Department Director Lo Chih-cheng (???) also admitted to some key points during an on-air phone call to SET's (????) "Talking Show" (????). First, he admitted that Ma deposited the NT$170,000/month which didn't require receipts into his personal account. He also admitted that Ma subsequently declared that money as part of his personal assets in a statement to the Examination Yuan, though he said he didn't know how much it was altogether..."

There you have it folks. Corruption. But there's more:

"....Taipei City Government Secretariat Director Lee Shu-te (???) claims that about NT$80,000/month was used "to reward staff members," according to an article in Friday's Taipei Times."
"The law requires that Ma return the unused portion of those funds to an account specifically for the purpose of collecting that remaining money, and Ma apparently did not follow this law..."

Okay so Ma Ying Jeou won't step down. What will he do then?

"....Ma is trying to avoid the "jaws of death" is by saying he'll donate NT$15,000,000 to charity. How amusing! If I stole your money and then donated a portion of it (no matter how large) to charity, I would be totally avoiding two things: 1) paying back the victim; and 2) atoning for the crime..."

Thats about it. However one thing is for certain, the Teflon Don has die-hard followers and supporters. Instead of biting their own words, they'll probably play along and blame the staffer, blame anyone except who they deem heroes. The sad part is, Ma can probably lie and his constituents will eat it. I will go so far to say that had Ma Ying Jeou been born a woman, "she" could have triplets and still convince her constituents that she's a virgin.

I also wanted to add that, the man running the Ministry of Audit had Mayor Ma at his wedding and has close ties to Lien Chan. I'm sure there will be a very fair investigation. Interestingly enough, none of this has made the front cover of major Chinese PRC papers. Shows you who they really support.

I saw that.

He claims it's just an administrative mistake...and his opponents are trying make him look bad...the same can be said for Abien. Whatever Ma-Dog does is right, and whatever Abien does is wrong - that's how dirty and what sort of hypocrite the blues /red are.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH....LOL!!!!!!!!

I knew it! How typical of you!

You kept quiet all time about Chen corruption screw up but when there is an administrative error with Ma, you pop right out to exaggerate.

If there is something wrong with Ma¡¦s situation, VP Lu (former Tao Yuan Mayor), DPP chairman Yo (former Jia Yi Mayor), and former Kao Xiong mayor Xie and former Taipei county Su will all be in bigger trouble!

Notice despite what other DPP scum bag are busy trying to exaggerate this as ridiculesly as they can,

Lu, Yo, Su and Xie and big 4 of DPP are all keeping quiet and even say there is nothing wrong with Ma.

All in all,

Ma admin error is just being exaggerated making nothing our something to direct the attention form Chen shui bian¡¦s corruption which is REAL.

This whole thing will die down very soon!

As for Chen shui bian and his corrupt DPP, we ain¡¦t even seen the best of it yet!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

XiaoXue/KuoMinTang/Montgomery College reject...

The fact is no one is suspecting the staffer of pocketing the money, in fact there is solid evidence that Ma broke the law and he's not denying that. However even Ma says that he is not returning the money back to the state, instead ready to only give a small portion of it to charity.

What about Montgomery College? Is that where you use to go? Where the hell is that?

Did you get kicked out of there or something?

I have no idea how that is relevant to the topic!

Your info is obviously wrong. You are either a dumb idiot who enjoys reading bullshit or you are just simply making thing up without bothering to read the news. Real news like the BBC or CNN not some biased backwater newspaper like Taipei Time who makes money and an audience out of dumb asses like you.

Ma is give all of that money to charity who is a total of about 15000000 NT. That is all the money since he became mayor.

Unlike Chen and his bitch wife who uses our tax money to buy diamond, jewelry, watches and lives a wasteful and extravagant life style. His son and that ugly daughter of his also steals money and put in to their Bank of American account in the states in NY and LA totaling a sum of 700000000 NT.

Face it bitches, Chen is corrupt and we all know it. DPP knows it too, that is why they always cast invalid ballot in the motion to recall.

Because they know if they ever give the people of Taiwan a chance to decide if Chen should step down, Chen will not be president anymore.

The fact that you purposely avoid talking the dress in red demonstration and the exposition of Chen corruption and his wife¡¦s diamonds and jewelry and was hiding away all this time but jumps right out when the is a small error and misunderstanding with ma show that you are just a biased, one sided son of a bitch.

P.S: if ma ever goes down, so will the big 4 of DPP (Lu, You, Su, Xie) because they too had the same problem as ma and a lot worse.

xiaoxui20, I am not sure if you've noticed, this is a blog, and it's titled TaiwanIndependence. I don't think this blog's purpose is to provide a clean view of all sides, and before criticizing this personal blog for its prejudices, perhaps you should look at the 'blue' news media in Taiwan (China Times, China Post, Central Daily, United Daily, TVBS, ETTV), and how those 'news' media presents the news (if not 'making' them).

And what's up with those personal attacks?

What the hell is a 'mainlander'?
If they are Chinese then they are called 'Chinese'.
If you want to distinquish the people of Hong Kong and Mainland China, then you call them Hong Kong Chinese and Mainland Chinese, respectively.
Simply 'mainlander' means absolutely nothing.

Then you call them Taiwanese Chinese, or Chinese Taiwanese, which ever you prefer.
For the Chinese Taiwanese, I call them 在臺中國人.

we are all ¦b»O¤¤°ê¤H aren't we then?

We are all Taiwanese Chinese? Even A bian and the DPP chairman. They all tried to find thier roots in mainland China. Even thought they tried to do it in sercet it still got exposed.

Our Ancestors all came from Mainland China at some time in past isn't it?

So denying being Chinese doesn¡¦t really make sensence does it.....

Now, when I say '¦b»O¤¤°ê¤H', I mean the Chinese staying in Taiwan but does not recognise Taiwan as a nation. If they do recognise Taiwan, they'd be called Taiwanese Chinese (or Chinese Taiwanese), because they are now part of the country, much like Taiwanese American or Irish German.

Chinese has two meanings, one is nationality (ie. holding a PRC passport), and the other is ethnicity (ie. culture etc.).
But Chinese is not a race, considering there are Han, Manchu, Uyghurs, and many more distinctive ethnic groups within the nation of PRC.

I do not agree that all Taiwanese are of Chinese origin, and most certainly did not come from the PRC. Of course, I would agree that many Taiwanese have origins from that region of Asia, but to call them Chinese would be like calling ourselves Ethiopians.

The Chinese and Taiwanese do share similar cultures. Both are generally rice nations (though I think the majority of northern Chinese prefer eating noodles), and generally both use chopsticks. But to call Taiwanese and Chinese the same ethnic group, is far too generalising.
The Taiwanese had been colonised by the Dutch and the Japanese, and over the years Taiwan has developed its unique language and culture, likewise with the Americans, English and Canadians.

So no, many people on Taiwan are not ¦b»O¤¤°ê¤H, and many are not Chinese Taiwanese.

Actually about KuoMinTang and his 20 other aliases...

When the Xanga user KuoMinTang went too far by physically threatening me and others, then started giving out my home address to random people and telling them to do crazy stuff, I had no choice but to report it to the FBI. You never know, people who are stalkerish and make physical threats online seem to have major issues controlling themselves, and you never know when they might cross the border from virtual to reality.

I sent all the logging information I got from Xanga to the FBI earlier this year as well as local police departments in New York City and Maryland. They suggested that I also contact the source of the IP addresses. The University of Maryland System's dean and administrators did a search and it turned out that his posts were coming from Montgomery College, a community college that is part of the University of Maryland System. It was there that we found out that he'd usually post from a lab during afternoon break.

I was then left with a decision; should a student then possibly lose his student-visa/degree towards a medical related degree and possibly serve jail-time or wait and see what happens. As luck (for him) would have it, KuoMinTang took a break for the summer.

For a kid who worships a government party that has killed more civilians than the Nazi's, and acts like a general asshole on my blog, I was really overly lenient. Finally I was specifically requested by half a dozen people to leave his posts on my blog simply because a) he can't delete them, b) he makes the Chinese Nationalist Party look stupid.

PS: By the way, everyone knows that we'd lose Taipei. But we did win Kaoshiung. =) So far I've never been wrong on election predictions. I collect $85 from all my Pan Blue friends that bet against me. It could be more; Oone friend said he'd bet $1000. I somehow doubt he'd surrender the loss though.
